PSR-Pittsburgh is the Western Pennsylvania chapter of Physicians for Social Responsibility (PSR), a 20,000-member national organization of physicians, other health professionals and friends.
PSR is the United States affiliate of International Physicians for the Prevention of Nuclear War (IPPNW), recipient of the 1985 Nobel Prize for Peace. Since its inception, PSR has focused on the need to protect humanity from the unprecedented threats to survival that are posed by the development, deployment, and potential use of nuclear weapons. Additionally, PSR is committed to the achievement of a sustainable environment, and to the reduction of violence and its causes.
